About Us

Welcome to Charlie & Cookie Co. Our store is lovingly named after our cherished dogs, Charlie, an energetic Beagle with a passion for playing fetch and getting up to mischief, and Cookie, an affectionate Jura Hound cross we rescued through Cyprus Dog Rescue. Cookie has triumphed over adversity and filled our lives with joy and inspiration.

During lockdown, I stayed home with Busby our first Beagle, reassessing my work-life balance and cherishing precious moments with our aging companion. Sadly, Busby passed away on New Year's Eve 2021, leaving a void in our hearts. We decided to carry his mischievous beagle legacy by welcoming Charlie, a 10-week-old beagle, into our home in February 2022.

Although we fell in love with Charlie, we felt guilty for not choosing a rescue dog. We had always been drawn to rescuing and supported several dog rescues, mainly in Cyprus, after learning about Jamie and Louise Redknapp rescuing a Jura Hound cross. Andrea at Cyprus Dog Rescue captured our hearts, and through her stories on Facebook, we discovered Cookie. She was found starving and in terrible condition, wandering the mountains of Cyprus.

With support from Dogs4Rescue in Manchester, Cookie arrived in September 2022 to start her new life with us. Our lives now revolve around our furry family, and in December 2022, I made the brave decision to quit my corporate career and pursue my dream of starting a business. Inspired by Charlie and Cookie and drawing on my many years in retail, Charlie & Cookie Co was born.

We're huge advocates of shopping small and local, and I'm passionate about building a platform to support new brands from small UK suppliers. Our hope is to grow the business so we can start supporting the rescues and charities that brought us our beautiful girl Cookie. As devoted dog parents, we believe in the power of personal touch and genuine connection. That's why we don't just sell products; we ensure that each item passes through a meticulous trial and evaluation process, with Charlie and Cookie as our trusted testers.
